Raptor 125 build
« on: January 27, 2012, 10:31:36 PM »

Here's Hunter's quad for this season.  Made my own gussetts & welded them in.  Got it powdercoated for free!  Hunter's grandmother works at a place that just doing powdercoating.  He wanted KTM orange.

Another good start, just remember it can't go over 125cc, even in the pro class Pee Wee.

Motor is remaining stock, besides exhaust.  Here's a look at as a roller.  Went with GT Thunder HLS shocks, Laz Sommers really knows his stuff these Yamaha's.

Milon was 5 and Hunter was 7.  Man, where does time go?  I just thought about it, Milon has been racing 9 years!

Mine are 4 and 5. I was thinking about starting them next season. Would you start with a 50cc or 90cc?

I don't really know Terry.  Back when my oldest boy started all there was quads with 2 stroke scooter motors in them.  Now everything is fourstrokes and I will tell you that Yamaha is well ahead of pack with their chasis designs.  Apex,DRR and some others have some really nice 2 stroke machines, but are they gonna riding 2 strokes when they get older?  Prolly not!  This the problem my oldest son is having.  He's back on a 2 stroke this year.

I know what you mean about the two strokes. I'll probably end up going with a Raptor 50 or 90 to start. Atleast I can stick with yamaha parts on mine and theres. Thanks for the info!

The Raptor 90 I believe is the Japanese 90 that has dual a-arms.  Those old single a-arm front ends really sucked.

You did a good job on that 125. When I get one for them I may have to get some tips from ya.
